About The Event
Sri Shankara Jayanthi
Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti is an important Hindu festival that celebrates the birth anniversary of Adi Shankaracharya, a great Indian philosopher and theologian credited with reviving and popularising Advaita Vedanta, one of the major schools of Hindu philosophy. Adi Shankaracharya is also known for his contributions to the development of Hindu monasticism and for establishing four prominent mutts, or monasteries, in India. We observe the festival with great reverence and devotion to our Gurus, offer prayers and seek his blessings for a fulfilling life with knowledge and wisdom.
On this day, Swarathmika NZ School of Music Students and their Guru, Smt Gayathri Dharmarajan, will offer prayers with Bhajans.
