Annamacharya was born on Vaishakha Shuddha Pournami in Sarwadhari Samvastsara(22 May 1408) in Tallapaka. Annamacharya is said to have composed as many as 32,000 sankeertanas (songs) on the god Venkateswara, of which only about 12,000 are available today. SVWT observes the Jayanthi on Thur, 23 May.

Annamacharya is said to have composed as many as 32,000 keertanas (songs) on the god Venkateswara, of which only about 12,000 are available today. SVWT observes the Jayanthi on Thursday, 23 May 2024.
In reverence, SVWT will perform a special prayer on this day, followed by a "Geethanjali".
