Sri Annamacharya Jayanthi

Annamacharya was born on Vaishakha Shuddha Pournami in Sarwadhari Samvastsara(22 May 1408) in Tallapaka. Annamacharya is said to have composed as many as 32,000 sankeertanas (songs) on the god Venkateswara, of which only about 12,000 are available today. SVWT observes the jayanthi on Sat 6 May.

About The Event

Annamacharya was born on Vaishakha Shuddha Pournami in Sarwadhari Samvastsara(22 May 1408) in Tallapaka. Annamacharya is said to have composed as many as 32,000 keertanas (songs) on the god Venkateswara, of which only about 12,000 are available today. SVWT observes the Jayanthi on Sat, 6 May.

In reverence, SVWT will perform a special prayer on this day, followed by a Mandolin recital by our Asthana Vidhwan Sri Saketh Vishnubotla. Please join us for the "Nadanjali" as the popular Annamacharya keertana performed by Sri Saketh.
