According to the Panchangam, the Grahanam occurs in the early hours of 8th September, from 4:27 AM to 6:12 AM (NZT). This celestial event is considered significant, and special prayers are recommended for peace and relief from doshas.

Shatabhisha (Sadayam)
Ardra (Thiruvadhirai)

Devotees born under these stars and born on Sunday are especially encouraged to participate and offer the prescribed Parihārams to both Chandra (the Moon) and Rahu.
Parihāram (Remedial Offering)
For Chandra: White cloth (Hand towel, bath towel or dothi), rice
For Rahu: Blue/black cloth (Hand towel, tea towel, bath towel) with Black lentils
Kindly bring fruits, flowers, coconut for the offerings.
These offerings may be made at the temple during the evening Grahana Shanti prayers.
