About The Event
Pradosham Celebration at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Wellington:
Pradosham is a significant observance in the Hindu calendar, held in honour of Lord Shiva. It occurs twice in a lunar month on the thirteenth day (Trayodashi) during the moon's waning and waxing phases. This sacred period is believed to be auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, offering an opportunity for devotees to seek their divine blessings for the removal of sins and fulfilment of wishes.
The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Wellington proudly upholds this tradition by performing Rudrabhishekam during every Pradosham. This powerful ritual involves ceremonially bathing the Shiva Lingam with sacred substances while chanting the Rudram, a Vedic hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva.
We cordially invite devotees to participate in this divine service and experience Lord Shiva's spiritual aura and blessings. To contribute to the ritual, devotees must bring offerings such as fruits, coconut, milk, and dry fruits. These offerings are integral to the abhishekam and are used to honour Lord Shiva during the ceremony.
Your presence and contributions will add to the sanctity and vibrancy of the event. Join us in this spiritual journey and partake in Lord Shiva's blessings during Pradosham at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Wellington.
