Makara Sankranti, a joyous and auspicious festival, marks the sun's transition into the zodiac sign of Capricorn (Makara Rashi). Back home. It is a time of thanksgiving to nature for bountiful crops and prosperity.

The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Wellington (SVWT) is delighted to invite devotees to join the Makara Sankranti celebrations, including a unique community Pongal event and Vishesha Pooja. The festivities will be as follows:
